XenaLux™

The Burton Medical XenaLux™ is a 300-Watt Xenon fiber-optic headlight and illuminator system built for surgeons and proceduralists who need bright, shadow-free, hands-free lighting directly at the surgical field. The system delivers 225,000 lux at a 16″ working distance through a lightweight 6.5 oz headlight, with a variable spot diameter from 0.8″ to 4.3″ adjusted on the fly by a removable joystick, so the beam can be widened for a full surgical field or narrowed for focused, deep-cavity work without repositioning the light source itself.

At a 5,900 Kelvin color temperature and 98 CRI, the XenaLux renders tissue color close to true daylight, which matters for judging perfusion, bleeding, and tissue viability during a procedure. The headlight's optical system offers full-range articulation with a vertically adjustable linkage arm for reach and maneuverability, and the fiber-optic cable connects to Burton's 300-Watt Xenon illuminator through a rotary turret compatible with Wolf, Storz, Olympus, ACMI, and Pilling connectors — so it can be integrated into ORs that already use one of those fiber-optic standards. The illuminator itself runs quiet and cool with forced venting and includes a built-in hours-in-use meter to help track lamp life against the rated 1,000-hour bulb.

XenaLux is offered as the complete headlight-and-illuminator system (XN10C), as the headlight and cable alone for facilities pairing it with a compatible existing illuminator (XN10H), or as the 300-Watt Xenon illuminator by itself (XN10I) for replacing or adding a light source to a current headlight setup. An optional mobile floorstand lets the illuminator travel between ORs instead of being fixed to one room, and replacement joysticks, bulbs, cables, garment clips, and comfort liners are all available directly from Burton.

Burton Medical has manufactured exam, procedure, and surgical lighting since 1928 from its FDA-registered facility in Addison, Illinois, with more than 400,000 Burton lights installed worldwide. The XenaLux headlamp and module, along with the fiber-optic illuminator, are each backed by Burton's 3-year limited warranty, with the 300-Watt Xenon lamp itself warranted for up to 500 hours of use and fiber-optic cables covered for 1 year against strain-relief damage.
