The Harloff AL16CS-5-EKC is a 16-bin cassette medication cart from Harloff's OptimAL aluminum line, finished with an electronic keypad lock (EKC) so nursing and pharmacy staff get keyless, code-based access without carrying a physical key on every pass. It's built for smaller units, group homes, and satellite med rooms that need genuine cassette-cart organization in a lighter, more maneuverable frame than a full steel medication cart.
Storage is organized into two removable 8-bin double-tier cassettes, 16 total 5" wide patient bins, with dividers and labels included, and the cassettes sit in pull-out drawers so a whole cassette can be lifted out for restocking at a med room counter instead of loading bins one at a time inside the cart. A 4" multipurpose drawer, an 8" multipurpose drawer, and a pull-out shelf on the right side round out the storage, and pre-threaded accessory mounting holes let facilities add a narcotics drawer (Harloff's CS-4FLN) or other accessories without custom drilling.
The electronic keypad lock replaces the standard BEST® key cylinder with code-based entry, cutting down on lost-key callbacks and letting a unit change the access code instead of rekeying hardware when staff turn over. Every drawer rides on self-closing, ball-bearing, full-extension slides, and the cart is capped with a removable plastic top with integrated push handles for easy repositioning. Painted aluminum construction keeps the whole unit light enough for one staff member to maneuver confidently down a hallway, while corner bumpers and 5" ball-bearing casters (one directional, two with brake) protect walls and door frames and keep the cart parked securely once it's in place.
